President's Report May - June 2010

I urge you the members to attend LFAA National Conference if you possibly can on the 16th, 17th and 18th June 2010 in the Main committee room in Parliament House Canberra ACT. There is a host of Ministers and MPs as guest speakers on Family law, Child Support, Men’s Health, DNA Testing, Domestic Violence, Family Relationship Services and much more.

LFAA is still going well although I am very concerned with both our funding cuts due to the Child Support Agency Communication Project coming to an end, and with the budget cuts that will also affect many low income families, and lone parent families, the big rise in food, rent, mortgage health etc. I state this because its coming to us, from you people the members, and others from Parents Without Partners Australia which are by far the two biggest lone parent organisations in Australia, by old people who can’t afford 3 meals a day and heating to keep them warm.

President's Report March - April 2010

Welcome to 2010. Let’s hope we can achieve further and better changes to family law in Australia.

There has been a lot of debate and criticism lately over the shared responsibility laws and especially in the area of shared care of children.

This is a terrible shame and a ploy by the extreme feminists and some extreme researchers to destroy the child’s right to have shared care or equal time with both parents. These people have totally ignored the paramount rights of the child for their own selfish needs, to take out their spite and get back at the other party.

President's Report December 2009 - January 2010

Another Year gone by and LFAA is still going strongly as a matter of fact we have just reopened Tasmania branch with a new committee and our Bundaberg Qld branch with a new committee.

We will be opening more branches in Sydney, Melbourne and one in WA very early in the new year.

Its been a hectic year but with a lot of successes. I can honestly say that regardless of all the negative reporting you may have heard about the new shared responsibility—shared care laws it is complete lies, extreme feminist lies, to try and have those laws overturned for their own greedy selves, they are putting their greed and hate before their own children.

President's Report April - May 2009

The National Mini Conference held on the Gold Coast on the 27th 28th, February &1st March was very successful with some of our branch presidents and some branch committee members attending. Unfortunately some who had declared they were attending did not turn up, and as they were booked in LFAA had to cop up with paying for their rooms and meals. This did not dampen nor stop the conference being a tremendous success, and all that attended stated that it was great and they had a good time both at the conference and at the night time BBQS where they mixed and chatted with others from different State branches.

Senator for Queensland Joe Ludwig, who is also Minister for Human Services, and CSA Minister attended with his senior advisor Brendan Long the Senator opened the Conference on Saturday morning the 28th February, and spent time talking to the conference delegates and answering questions put to him. We are very grateful to the Senator and to Brendan, both have a very busy schedule but gave up their Saturday morning to support us.
